When people hear the words Google Business Profile, most of them immediately think about restaurants, cafés, hotels, salons, and retail stores.

Very few people think about manufacturers.

And that’s precisely the problem.

Across Hyderabad, countless manufacturers have invested heavily in infrastructure, machinery, people, processes, certifications, and quality control. Years are spent building credibility, establishing relationships, and delivering exceptional products. Yet, when a potential customer searches online, many of these businesses are almost invisible.

The assumption is understandable. Manufacturing has traditionally been built on relationships, referrals, trade associations, exhibitions, distributors, and long-standing networks. Business owners often believe that digital visibility is important for consumer brands but not necessarily for industrial businesses.

However, buying behaviour has changed dramatically.

Today’s buyers don’t simply wait for recommendations. They search, compare, verify, read reviews, study websites, browse photographs, and look for proof before initiating a conversation. Before they speak to a salesperson, they want confidence that they are speaking to the right company.

This is where a Google Business Profile becomes much more than a listing. It becomes a digital introduction.

Unfortunately, the mistakes we encounter are remarkably similar.

  • A profile is created and then forgotten. The business category is too broad to attract the right audience.
  • Photographs of projects, facilities, teams, and operations are rarely updated.
  • Questions remain unanswered.
  • Reviews receive little or no response.

Perhaps the most common mistake is the belief that once a profile has been created, the work is complete.

In reality, that’s only the beginning.

Recently, while reviewing the online presence of an industrial company, we discovered that the solution wasn’t complicated. There was no expensive advertising campaign, no elaborate redesign, and no aggressive sales strategy.

Instead, we focused on fundamentals.

We refined the business categories, updated photographs regularly, encouraged customer reviews, responded to feedback consistently, and shared weekly updates highlighting the company’s work and expertise.

The changes were simple, but the results were meaningful. Profile views increased, enquiries improved, and more people discovered the business. The interesting thing is that none of these activities required extraordinary effort. What they required was consistency.

Perhaps the bigger question manufacturers should ask themselves is this:

“If a customer searches for us today, what impression are we creating before the first conversation even begins?”

In today’s world, buyers often meet your digital presence long before they meet you. And sometimes, that first impression determines whether the second one ever happens.

At Dharthi, we believe that visibility isn’t about being everywhere. It’s about being present where people are already looking. For Businesses, that journey often begins with something as simple—and as powerful—as a Google search.

Beyond Digital is a knowledge initiative by Dharthi Digitals, where we simplify Business, Technology, and Society through practical insights, thoughtful perspectives, and real-world ideas.
